The AirButlers team is very happy to have had a 2020 season full of great memories and lots of learning!!! We flew for 14 days across the Cauca Valley and here is a nice write up by one of our guests Bowen Dwelle from the USA.
"I’ve been building my art collection. Not paintings; I have nowhere to hang them. Instead, I’ve invested in experiences with other coaches, teachers and artists—writing with @deeptravelworkshop, coaching workshops with Robert Ellis and Keith Merron, and two weeks of guided flying here in #Colombia with #CarlosCordido, all in the first six weeks of this year.
Working with a coach, hiring a guide, going on a “tour” (I loathe that word)—are these luxuries, or reasonable purchases? The unique product of someone’s experience and imagination *is* art, whether it’s a painting, a meal, or an experience they’ve designed.
Is the art good? Did I get my money’s worth? It takes some time to digest. When I arrived in Colombia I was tense and embarrassed to have signed on with a guided group. The adventurer in me felt belittled and wanted my money back. I had made an intuitive decision to sign on, and then found myself re- re- re-considering; my conscious mind trying to decipher what my subconscious had already written.
My unconscious is part of this too—the part that wants to be taken care of. The part of me that doesn’t know everything, and wants someone to show me, surprise me, and help me. I’ve been leading all my life, much of the time out on my own, trying to create something for myself and others. It’s a relief to put myself in another’s hands for a change.
So at first I resisted... and then I began to relax and enjoy. My intuition knows how to find other artists, and they all repaid my trust in full. I’ve learned so much here over the past two weeks flying and traveling with the AirButlers crew—Carlos, Albaro and Alex. I made huge steps forward with my flying and experienced much more than I would have on my own. Of course, I could have done it myself... but I wouldn’t have had the same opportunity to experience the work of other artists, to learn from them—and to support them in their creativity, to become part of their vision.
What better use for money than to exchange it for art?
